Does water remain in certain areas of your roof? Drainage deserves attention alongside the rest of the roof assembly. Alliance Roofing can help you prepare an assessment of the affected areas and discuss potential work as part of your roofing project.
Record where water remains
Photographs taken at different times after rainfall can help document the situation, when they are available without climbing onto the roof. Note recurring areas, known drain locations and previous work. A single image is not enough to select a drainage correction.
Examine the path to the drains
The assessment considers drainage points, obstructions and the configuration of the roof surface. Standing water alone does not establish the cause. The review helps determine whether maintenance, a targeted repair or a change to the assembly should be considered.
Coordinate corrections with replacement
A roof replacement provides an opportunity to discuss drainage concerns before installing the new membrane. Ask for the affected areas, proposed approach and scope limitations to be described. If other building components are involved, coordination should be planned before work begins.
Points to assess
- Low points and areas of accumulation
- Location and condition of drainage outlets
- Heights at thresholds, parapets and equipment
